MACKNIT Information and Learning Day

This is to be a day of INFORMATION and LEARNING to help you become a more efficient and professional Machine Knitter.

To do this, there will be 3 Knitting Machines in operation all day giving the “best” information possible.  Demonstrations on a continual basis (hopefully) and questions will be

Welcomed at all times.

There will be 2 SUPERDUPER PATTERNS for you to take home and knit – a lovely Scarf and a pair of Mittens – no machine restriction!!!

There will be a HANDOUT asking questions about YOUR KNOWLEDGE and where you are at with your own MACHINE KNITTING EDUCATION.  When answering the questions be HONEST WITH YOURSELF as the answers remain with YOU.  You will receive a FULL PATTERN BOOK free of charge showing you HOW TO KNIT GARMENTS with dressmaker-type Diagrams.  We will show you a range of Yarns and show you HOW TO IDENTIFY the Yarn Counts such as – 2/22  -   R80/2  -  1/7mm  and so on…

You will see samples of garments using DRESS YARNS to enable you to experiment yourself with new and innovative ways to progress and make nice garments

In your Journey as a Machine Knitter, it is important  that YOU know how to …

MATTRESS STITCH  -  GRAFT (Plain & Purl)  -  FLAT STITCH  -  SANDWICH SEAM –  CASTING OFF various ways  -  CAST ON in 1:1 Rib,   -  ALL NEEDLE RIB (Knit/Knit),  2:2 RIB (a.k.a. 2:1 Rib), Single-bed Cast on both beds.    Shaping: Simple Increasing, Fully Fashioned Increasing/Decreasing, Increasing several stitches at a time and so on…

If you have Tools/Accessories AT HOME which are “still in the box” bring them along and see how they work.  This is a VERY SPECIAL DAY so DON’T MISS OUT !!!
